Biography
Matt Fossen is a senior director at Penta, where he advises a range of clients on public policy, messaging, and stakeholder engagement strategy. With a decade’s worth of experience, Fossen specializes in issues advocacy for organizations in tech, energy, and finance.
Prior to Penta, Fossen was Vice President of External Affairs for Last Energy, a Washington, D.C.-based nuclear energy startup, where he oversaw government relations, media relations, and corporate communications. Before Last Energy, he served as the first U.S. public affairs lead for Proton, a Swiss data encryption startup, working on North American rapid response, policy, and coalition building. Earlier in his career, Fossen was a senior strategist for Stu Loeser & Co. in New York, managing government affairs and communications campaigns for clients and leading the firm’s tech, energy, and HNWI practices.
Fossen received his B.S. from Cornell University and a M.A. in International Science & Technology Policy from George Washington University.
