Biography
Jess Pavel is a senior director at Penta, where she advises clients on public policy, strategic communications, and crisis communications. She works with clients across the nonprofit and private sectors on a range of issues.
Jess most recently worked at the United Nations Foundation, directing global health advocacy for vector-borne diseases and U.S. multilateral engagement. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served for over four years as Senior Health Policy Advisor to Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT), leading the domestic and global health, pandemic preparedness, and climate portfolios. She also served as Senator Romney’s policy director on his 2018 Senate campaign. She has previously worked in public policy communications and consulting, including at Hamilton Place Strategies (now Penta), on a diverse set of client issues.
Jess received her MPH from George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health and earned her B.A. from the University of Michigan in political science and international relations. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband.
