Biography
Jamal Alkayed is a Senior Director in Penta’s Advisory team, drawing on his experience across communications and politics to help clients realise business objectives and mitigate repuational and regulatory challenges.
Prior to joining Penta, Jamal was an Irish diplomat, most recently serving at the Embassy of Ireland in London, where he worked closely with senior political figures, journalists and other stakeholders across Westminster and Whitehall.
Jamal served as Vice President, and later Acting President, of the Diplomatic Press Attachés Association London, representing communications professionals from diplomatic missions across the capital.
Earlier in his career, Jamal worked on Middle East policy and international security at Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs, including nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation at the United Nations. Before joining the diplomatic service, he was a political researcher at the Clingendael Institute in The Hague and managed refugee education projects in Türkiye.
Jamal holds an MSc in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science, an MA in International Relations from Leiden University and is a fluent Arabic speaker.
