Biography
Alysa James is a Senior Director at Penta, where she leads cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact public affairs strategies for clients navigating complex political, regulatory, and communications environments.
Before joining Penta, Alysa served as Senior Spokesperson and Advisor to the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where she shaped and executed communications around the CFPB’s policymaking, enforcement actions, research initiatives, and public engagements.
Alysa also previously served as Communications Director for the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. In this role, she oversaw all committee communications, managed the press team, developed strategies to advance priority nominees, and led crisis communications efforts during major financial sector events.
Earlier in her career, Alysa held roles with Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, serving in his personal office and later as the first Director of African American Media for the Senate Democratic Caucus.
