Biography

 Megan Whittemore is a corporate affairs executive and strategic advisor with nearly 20 years of experience guiding leaders and organizations through complex challenges. Most recently, she served as Head of External Affairs for Corning Incorporated, where she led the company’s external engagement strategy, global media relations, sustainability and social impact initiatives, public affairs, crisis response, and corporate reputation.

Megan has advanced the priorities of CEOs, senior executives, and policymakers, helping them drive results in constantly shifting media and political environments. She has a proven record of building and leading high-performing teams focused on delivering results.

As Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator David Perdue, Megan led the Senator’s transition team, established his Washington and Georgia offices, and managed his legislative priorities on the Armed Services, Foreign Relations, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees. During her Capitol Hill tenure, Megan was instrumental in advancing major bipartisan legislation, including the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, USMCA Trade Agreement, and the First Step Act.

Megan started her career in public service as Press Secretary for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, managing communications for House leadership and building bipartisan coalitions, notably securing passage of the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act. She honed her media expertise covering national politics for Fox News Channel, producing live news interviews for “Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace” and covering the 2008 election cycle.

Megan’s recognitions include the GW Alumni Achievement Award, President of the bipartisan Senate Press Secretaries Association, and a spot on PR News' "Rising PR Stars 30 and Under." Megan holds degrees from The George Washington University’s School of Media & Public Affairs and Graduate School of Political Management, where she has also served as an adjunct professor.

Originally from New Jersey, Megan lives in Virginia with her husband and their dog. Passionate about travel and wellness, she is working toward her 200-hour yoga teacher certification and recently completed yoga retreats in Iceland and Morocco.
