Biography
Andrea Christianson is a partner at Penta, where she provides strategic counsel to clients seeking to persuade stakeholders on complex issues. Andrea has advised public and private sector leaders at the highest levels on rapid response, crisis communications, campaign management, and media monitoring solutions. She works with corporations, nonprofits, and trade associations to develop custom, data-driven strategies to increase internal effectiveness, persuade external audiences, and measure success.
Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Andrea led op-ed and media outreach strategy for the Cato Institute, working closely with scholars on immigration and health care. Previously, she served as communications director for South Dakota’s lone Representative, Kristi Noem, where she helped establish Rep. Noem as a leading voice on the Farm Bill reauthorization. Prior to that, Andrea served as a press secretary for Rep. Kevin McCarthy. Earlier, she served as a deputy press secretary and spokesperson for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger with a portfolio that included economic growth, education, agriculture, and transportation. Andrea planned, executed and staffed the communication effort for Gov. Schwarzenegger’s 2010 trade mission to China.
A Northern California native, Andrea received her bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University. She lives in Virginia with her husband and two children.
