Hogan brings more than 15 years of communications leadership across asset management, private capital, banking and insurance to Penta's growing London office.
Penta Group has appointed Alex Hogan as managing director in its Financial Services team in London. Hogan joins from Gresham House, where he served as communications director, and brings more than 15 years of experience advising financial institutions on reputation, regulatory and stakeholder communications.
Hogan's career spans investment management, banking, insurance, private capital, and asset owners. At Nuveen, he served as managing director and head of media relations and communications for EMEA and APAC, overseeing communications strategy across 15 countries. Earlier roles at Citigate Dewe Rogerson and Unigestion saw him advise major financial institutions on crisis and reputation management, ESG and regulatory issues, and integrated global media strategy. He also served on the Investment Association's Communications Committee.
The appointment deepens Penta's financial services capability in London at a moment when the sector faces compounding pressures: accelerating regulation, capital markets fragmentation, and intensifying scrutiny from investors, policymakers and the public. Penta's platform processes more than 25 million daily signals across 100-plus languages, combining that intelligence with senior advisory expertise to help clients anticipate and act on stakeholder risk.
"Financial services communications have never been more complex or more consequential. Regulation is accelerating, capital markets are fragmenting and the battle for stakeholder trust is only intensifying," said Hogan. "Penta's integrated approach of combining deep policy, media and AI expertise with expert strategic communications execution is exactly what financial services firms need right now."
"London sits at the centre of gravity for financial services, which means it's also where regulatory change, capital markets disruption, and stakeholder scrutiny collide hardest," said Conall McDevitt, president of Penta Group, based in the firm's London office. "Alex has spent his career counselling some of the world's largest asset managers and complex financial businesses through exactly these pressures, both in-house and from the agency side. Pairing his experience with Penta's data and AI-driven platform is how we're deepening our financial services capability here. We are delighted to welcome him to the team."
Hogan's appointment follows Penta's recent hire of Jim O'Leary as CEO, who identified deepening the firm's financial communications bench in London and New York as a strategic priority.
